Tamara Wagle, NCTM: Both in-person and online lessons available
|
My name is Tamara Wagle. I am a professional piano teacher with twenty-five years of experience of teaching music and I provide private lessons in piano and music theory for students of all ages. I enjoy teaching music and am excited to share my knowledge and technical skills with others. I give a special importance for achieving a beautiful quality of tone, and I focus on mechanical skills along with artistic skills in order to teach the student not only how to play, but how to play well. Also, I help my students to learn how to understand and interpret music, so they can continue playing piano on their own, after they stopped taking music lessons.
Originally, I am from Ukraine; however, I have spent half of my life living in Kathmandu, Nepal. I studied music and have played six different instruments, the prominent one being the piano. I have degree in Piano Teaching from the Ukrainian Music State College in L’viv, and bachelor’s degree in Ethnomusicology from Kathmandu University of Nepal. I am an active member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). In 2019, I received from this group the certificate for being a certified teacher in piano. Numerous students of mine participate in different kind of music festivals and competitions, and some of them got international certificates in Piano performance and in Music theory in various grades of Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (London), and Trinity College London.

Christopher Salas: In-person lessons available
Hi there, my name is Chris and I’m a lifelong musician. I was trained in classical piano by my grandparents, both professional pianists, and have since gone on to play guitar, violin, mandolin, ukulele, and bass guitar.
In my 13 years of teaching, I have had the privilege of training with many professional musicians in southern California, and have participated in teacher/student showcase cover bands, playing bands like ZZ top, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, and a variety of “top hits” of the 00’s at local bars and block parties.
These days I concentrate my own musical focus to a beautiful and artistic style of classical guitar from southern Spain called Flamenco, but I still love helping others reach their musical dreams across many instruments and styles. My own past focuses have been in heavy metal, folk, rock, blues, video game and movie scores, and classical music.
You can expect our lessons to be a fun and friendly space for your musical exploration. We will cover theory and learn exercises, in small bits as it applies to your current project, in order to give a well rounded understanding of how the music works as a whole and to give you the tools to learn each song better and faster than the last. We will also be focused on developing superb technique and posture to keep your playing relaxed and fast without tiring your muscles or stressing your body. And finally, i will help you develop outstanding practice habits and methods to help you make the most out of the time you spend practicing.
The most important thing, though, is the music that you love, so we will work together on something that you’ve selected to play, or work toward, and design a personalized lesson plan to meet your goals.
