Erik Satie was one of the talented French composers known for “Trois Gymnopédies” or “The Gymnopédies”. The Gymnopédies” is a renown collection of a three-piano composition that carved its own niche in the fascinating history of classical piano pieces.
Satie's popularity started diminishing unfortunately due to financial troubles and Claude Debussy (another maestro) stepped out of the scene to help Satie. Debussy, with the gift of evaluation and rare aesthetic touch, orchestrated the first and third version and then reversed the numbering ending in such a way that Satie’s third became Debussy’s first, and vice versa. This rearranged score ended into an innovative piece that had drawn much public attention when published in 1898 and had been an orchestral phenomenon!
“The Gymnopédies” has been used extensively across several television shows, album remixes and notable movies as a celebration of Satie's works and his aesthetic musical authority.
