Irving Berlin (1888-1989) was a legendary American songwriter and lyricist that immortalized a lot of patriotic songs and unforgettable music scores in the history of American music.

Born from Russia, his Jewish family moved to the United States of America where he was exposed to the music being played at the restaurants and saloons until such time he dipped his hands to singing and songwriting, as he worked as a singing waiter.

His undeniable passion, hard work, and talent found their way from his first big break being a staff lyricist until being a celebrated songwriter on Broadway.

Irving's uncontested patriotism was demonstrated through his music, touching the lives of the US Army troops in their war effort. He soon crafted unforgettable songs such as “For Your Country and My Country”, Yip Yip Yaphank" and “God Bless America” unofficially considered as the national anthem of the United States of America.

He was a true patriot and a trailblazer with his outpouring songs, ballads and noble music that helped shaped the American music industry and because of that, he was a recipient of a long list of awards and citations from Tony Awards, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, Congressional Gold Medal, US Army Medal of Merit,  a Time Magazine cover, a spot in Hollywood Walk of Fame and a whole lot more to give honor and merit to his massive influence for much of the century.
