He eventually met Ludwig van Beethoven and became the best of friends but their friendship was eventually shaded as he was intimidated by the young prodigy. Nevertheless, they remained to be friends with mutual adoration and respect through the years.
His musical gift transcended to his students who later became some of the greatest and most prominent composers in history such as Robert Schumann, Frédéric Chopin, Adolf von Henselt, Sigismond Thalberg, Friedrich Silcher, Carl Czerny and even Felix Mendelssohn
