Charles Hanon (1819-1900) was a celebrated French pianist-educator during the Romantic era. He set forth instructional piano exercises and was known for his works, "The Virtuoso Pianist in 60 Exercises" which are still being used today to master the piano skills of agility, speed, precision, combined with finger strength and wrist flexibility.
