“Aida” is one of the flamboyant outdoor operas and highly-celebrated work of the legendary Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi. The four-act opera is in collaboration with Antonio Ghislanzon who created the Italian libretto.
This unique masterpiece was crafted in an ancient Egypt setting commissioned by the “Khedive of Egypt,” Isma'il Pasha to celebrate the inauguration of the “Khedivial Opera House that premiered on 1871.
The plot revolves around Aida, the Ethiopian princess enslaved by Egyptians and Radamès, a military commander who fancies her and how their romantic preludes were intertwined with love, jealousy, loyalty and tragedy.
